 After several weeks of hiatus, the Champions League is finally back.  The first competition for European clubs enters its 16th round starting Tuesday.  As a symbol, it is the record holder of championship titles, Real Madrid, who opens the ball with a shock against RB Leipzig.

 Leipzig - Real Madrid, an inconclusive shock

 After a fairly satisfactory group stage, RB Leipzig (4 wins, 2 losses) fell to the Madridistas in the round of 16.  The German club is used to causing problems, and they have a chance to play against the Madrilenians on Tuesday evening.  Leipzig has already shown that it is capable of beating Real Madrid by defeating the Merengues during the group stages last season at home (3-2) after losing in the first leg (2-0).  However, Marco Rose's men have not been in good form in recent weeks.  The German club have won just one of their last five matches (1 draw, 3 defeats) in all competitions, including a draw against Augsburg last weekend.  Not necessarily ideal before facing a club like Real Madrid.

 Leaders of La Liga, Real Madrid are in great form this season.  The Spanish capital team performed flawlessly during the group stages of the Champions League (6 wins in 6 matches, editor's note).  Real Madrid, who reached the semi-finals of the C1 League last season, are one of the big favorites for the final win, as is Manchester City, the defending champion.  Having been ravaged by numerous injuries including that of Jude Bellingham who is expected to miss the competition for two to three weeks, Real Madrid are still a terror to any team including Leipzig.  Moreover, as Antonio Rudiger pointed out on Monday evening, the Spanish club are wary of their German counterpart, whom they know is unpredictable.
